The Delaware County commissioners agreed on Monday, Aug. 27, to educate the county’s employees on the various health insurance benefit options before deciding on a plan.
Vicki Cossart, Human Resources Director addressed the commissioners on the benefits and costs of three different plans.
“The best plan works efficiently at the least cost,” Cossart said.
“I think we should have an option,” said Martin Kirk, District 3 county commissioner.
The commissioners also agreed to poll the employees on the plan they would like to see implanted.
Cossart said around 40 percent of the county’s employees use their health savings account.
In financial business, the commissioners approved paying a Tulsa County Juvenile Bureau $2,115.75 invoice and a $860.95 Office of Juvenile Affairs invoice.
The commissioners transferred $500,000 to the county’s general fund at the request of the county treasurer. Accounts making the transfer are: Resale, $110,000; MTG Tax Cert Fee, $60,000; RMP-1, $50,000; RMP-2, $30,000; Use Tax, $200,000 and CBRI-105, $50,000. Also transferred was $4,000 from the Butler Fire Department capital outlay account to its maintenance and operations account.
The Tiff City Fire Department filed is liability insurance and its list of officers: George Hayes, chairman; Ivan Hardesty, vice-chairman; Richard Hauser, Fred Jackson, members; Richard Huston, secretary; Terry Renner, fire chief; Huston, assistant fire chief, Barbara Barnes and Huston, requisitioning; Renner, receiving and Jacob Pierce, inventory.

The next meeting is 9 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 4 at the Delaware County Courthouse in the Commissioners’ Public Meeting room.
