Grove Chamber Business After Hours
The next Grove Area Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, June 21, at Grand Lake Casino, at 24701 South 655 Road, Grove.
The event is designed for chamber members to network, build contacts and connect with other professionals in a relaxed environment.

Heroes Help for DCCSAN
Volunteers from area Fire, Emergency Medical and Police departments will compete to see which "hero" can raise the most funds for the Delaware County Children's Special Advocacy Network (DCCSAN) from 5 to 9 p.m., Thursday, June 21 and Friday, June 22, at The Parrot in Grove.
Diners have a chance to "tip" their favorite emergency personnel with a donation for DCCSAN. The winning entity will get the traveling trophy. Law Enforcement is the defending champion. Can't go? Donations may be made in advance with the various agencies, (including Grove Fire, Grove EMS and Grove Police) earmarked for the event.

Bingo at the American Legion
Members of Grove’s American Legion Qualate-Pritchard Post 178 will begin hosting bingo at 6 p.m., on Saturdays, beginning Saturday, June 23, at the American Legion building located at 114 Broadway at the corner of O'Daniel Parkway and Broadway.
The family-friendly event is open to people of all ages. It will be smoke, alcohol and drug free. A concession will be available with soda, water, tea, coffee, popcorn, nachos, chips, candy bars and other snacks.
Payouts will be in cash, with the prize amounts depending upon the number of packets being played.
The bingo nights will serve as a fundraiser for the American Legion, with the purpose to help additional veterans and their families, as well as the youth in the local area, with the various American Legion programs.
Participants are asked to arrive early to purchase packets as bingo will start promptly at 6 p.m.

Paul Porter Memorial Youth Police Academy
Applications are now being accepted for the Paul Porter Memorial Youth Police Academy, part of the Grove Police Department.
The academy will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, July 16 to Friday, July 20, in Grove.
The Youth Academy is a program that shows our youth the ins and outs of what the police department does on a daily basis. Students will have the opportunity to get a “hands on” approach with organized demonstrations. Some of the topics we go over during the academy include: Tactical searches, Traffic stops, Domestic violence, Crime scene investigation, Drug investigation, Dispatch/ E911, MILO (Shoot/Don’t shoot simulator) and more.
The academy is open to students 13 to 18, lunch and class shirts will be provided. The event is free. A graduation ceremony will take place at 6 p.m., on Friday, July 20. Classes will be held at the GPD training center.

Thunder on Wolf Creek
The sixth annual Thunder on Wolf Creek, known as the "greatest show on the water," will take place Friday, June 29 to Sunday, July 1, at Wolf Creek Park, Grove.
The event will include three days of fun including 20 heats of hydroplane and runabout boat racing.
Hosted by the Oklahoma Boat Racing Association, the event is sanctioned by the National Boat Racing Association. More than 65 boats, representing teams from 15 states, are expected to participate.
Testing starts at noon, on Friday, June 29. Racing takes place, following opening ceremonies at 12:30 p.m., on Saturday, June 30, and noon, Sunday, July 1.

SDBA at Wolf Creek
Member of the Southern Drag Boat Association will host the Wolf Creek Nationals beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, July 7 and 8, at Wolf Creek Park in Grove.
The event features drag boats from across the country. Gates open at 8 a.m., each day, with qualifying races beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday and racing beginning at noon on Sunday.
Tickets are $20 for the day or $30 for a weekend pass. Military and first responders buy one, get one free. Kids under 12 are free. Cooler passes are available for $10 per day.
Additionally, a show and shine will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, July 6, at the Grove Community Center, 104 West Third, Grove. That event, which coincides with the city's First Friday Food Truck rally, is free to the public.

Great Grand Bobber Drop
The ninth annual Great Grand Bobber Drop will take place on Saturday, July 21, on Grand Lake.
The event begins at 8 a.m., as Sam Williams from the Grand Lake Sports Center drops bobbers - from an airplane - down the middle of Grand Lake at Honey Creek, Sail Boat Bridge, Shangri-La, Bernice and Elk River, and everywhere in between.
Participants are encouraged to find bobbers and bring them to the Grand Lake Sports Center at Third and Main, Grove, to see if it is a winner.
