The Grove School board approved paying around $20,000 in stipends to the school’s principals and directors for the month of July.

“If we added a month to their contracts it would cost the district close to $90,000,” said Superintendent Sandy Coaly.

Principals and Special Education Director Beaky Mease will received a $2,000 stipend, Assistant principals will received $700 and Federal Programs Director, Cindy Weaver, $1,000. The reason for the stipend is to allow administrators time to finish reports, Coaly said.

“They work very hard,” Coaly said. “They never complain, they come in whenever I ask.”
