The Delaware County commissioners approved on Monday, April 30 to have the locks to the courthouse changed.
“I have come up to the courthouse three times and it has not been locked,” said Russell Martin, commissioner chairman.
The commissioners discussed that so many people have a copy of the courthouse keys and the need for new locks.
After approving the proposal, Martin said a Ft. Smith, Arkansas company would probably have new locks and keys for judges, department heads and first deputies this week.
The cost would be less than $750, he said.
