Ottawa County Sheriff Jeremy Floyd is asking the public for help in locating suspects in a shooting which .

According to Floyd's report, at approximately 8:25 p.m. on Nov. 3 his office responded to a dispatch of a female that had been shot at the intersection of Highway 125 and Highway 59 south of Fairland.

Before deputies arrival, the victim, identified as Misty Channel, of Miami, had driven to Cherokee Casino Grove, seeking help.

The casino is located near the intersection of Highway 59 and South 580 Road, in rural Grove, in an area commonly known as Tom Cat Corner.

Law enforcement from Delaware and Ottawa County, including Grove Police Department and deputies from Delaware and Ottawa County Sheriff's Offices,  responded to the casino to investigate the incident.

Channel received medical attention and was taken by Grove Emergency Medical Services to INTEGRIS Grove Hospital, where she was then flown to another hospital to address the bullet wound.

Ottawa County Sheriff investigators processed Channel's vehicle and found one bullet hole in the driver’s door that struck the her while she was driving.

The shooting scene at Highway 125 and Highway 59 was also processed for evidence. The Channel's vehicle was towed to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office in Miami for an in depth assessment and evidence processing.

Before being transported for treatment, Channel described to law enforcement that a small white car being driven by a female with a male passenger was who had shot her at the intersection.

Investigator’s retrieved video surveillance from the area and confirmed the suspects were traveling in a newer model white Chevy Aveo.

As of Monday, Floyd said Channel is in stable condition.

“I want to thank the staff at the Cherokee Casino for their immediate response in assisting the victim and all law enforcement that assisted in this incident to include the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Grove Police Department, Cherokee Tribal Marshals, and the Fairland Police Department,” Floyd said.

As of press time Monday, Floyd said there was "nothing concrete" on the case, but that his deputies were following up on some leads.

However, Floyd said he does not believe the shooting was not random and the public is not in any risk from the suspects at large.
