AFTON - Kansas boys basketball team played in the Coca-Cola Classic Basketball Tournament, coming away as tournament champions with a 56-38 win over Mounds. The Comets beat Quapaw 64-28 and Fairland 69-35 to advance to the finals.

Kansas 64 Quapaw 28

Kansas led by 10 points after the first quarter and 35-14 at halftime. The Comets continued to roll in the second half with a 29-14 scoring advantage.

Kalin Parsons led the team with 14 points followed by Keelan Davis with nine points, Austin Glass eight, Dylan Siers seven, Blaine Pickup six, Hunter Sapp and Justus Fields four, Tyrus Teague and Smith with three while Bo Adams and Ryan King had two each.

Kansas 69 Fairland 35

The Comets had three players in double figures with Parsons scoring 21, Siers 15 and Pickup 10. Austin Glass had seven, Davis five, Tyrus Teague four, Sapp three with Smith and Adams two.

Kansas led 18-18 after the first quarter and 38-18 at halftime.

Kansas 56 Mounds 38

Kansas has little trouble in the finals with Mounds. The Comets led 13-10 and 30-19 at halftime. Parson once again was the leader in scoring with 20 points. Siers added 13, Davis and Adams seven, Austin Glass and Christian Glass three while Sapp had one point.
