Boat Giveaway, New Kid Zone to Highlight Week

Tulsa, Okla. – Cold weather has hit area lakes, but you can still find the boat of your dreams indoors at the 2009 Tulsa Boat, Sport & Travel show Feb. 2-8 at the QuikTrip Event Center at Expo Square.

This year’s boat show will feature a boat giveaway, a brand new Kid Zone, the popular food-filled VIP preview, and various seminars on fishing and boating topics.

Tulsa’s show has been ranked in the top five for events of its kind nationally by The Marine Retailers Association of America. With the exception of the Tulsa State Fair, the boat show is the longest running and largest event held in Tulsa.

“We’ve got a lot in store for show visitors this year, including new exhibits, family-friendly activities and crowd-pleasing shows,” said Phil Keeter, Tulsa boat show president. “There will definitely be something for everyone to enjoy.”

•Back by popular demand, Twiggy the Water Skiing Squirrel will show off her new wakeboarding tricks to delight children and adults.

•Seminars on fishing tips and techniques from industry pros.

•Visitors to the boat show’s new interactive website ( can learn more about the show and enter their names for a drawing to win a special prize.
