A local business has launched a major remodeling and building addition project.
Jeff Lungren, owner of Jeff Lungren Chevrolet, announced plans for a 1,400 square-foot addition and remodeling to his facility at 801 East Third.
“My family and staff are thrilled to begin a project that will transform our facility into a fresh, new automotive sales and service dealership” said Lungren. “We have planned this for years and are excited to begin the process.”
The building addition and remodeling design is aligned with General Motors’ Facility Image Program, a corporate initiative developed for new dealerships and for retailers considering remodeling. A number of visual and structural elements are required so that the finished product is easily recognized as a Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac or GMC Dealership, each with their own identity.
In 1981, Jeff Lungren’s father, Herb Lungren, purchased the current facility and opened for business in December of that year. Jeff purchased the dealership from his father in 1989, and the dealership currently employs thirty people.
Temporary housing has been brought in for the Sales department, while the Service and Parts operations are still housed in the main building. During construction, customers will be rerouted to the east driveway, near the Tire Center. From there, they can follow the signs to the Sales, Service or Parts departments. Customers can reach the Parts and Service departments through the back entrance on the North side of the main building.
Lungren said he hopes clients and guests will be patient with the dealership during the process. “We invite all of our clients, friends, and interested parties to come join the confusion.”
The project is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2013.
