WILLIAM ‘BILL’ HIX HENDREN

COLCORD, Okla. - William “Bill” Hix Hendren, 78 year-old resident of Colcord, Oklahoma died February 26, 2008 at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Born December 13, 1929 in Colcord, Oklahoma, he was the son of Albert Hendren and Mattie Potter Hendren. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was a welder and was Maintenance Director for Delco Manufacturing in Silaom Springs and Clark Industries in Springdale, Arkansas. He was also a farmer and raised broilers. He enjoyed working with wood and metal in his shop. He married Lavern Masters on May 2, 1952 in Maysville, Arkansas. He was a member of the Colcord First Baptist Church of Colcord, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Hendren, Buster Hendren and Lon Hendren; three sisters Alta Hollenback, Susie Cockrell and Stasha Hensley.
Survivors include his wife Lavern of the home, three sons, Johnny Hendren and wife Pam, David Hendren all of Colcord, OK and Eldon Hendren of Siloam Springs, AR; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one sister Della Roach of Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 29, 2008 at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Arkansas with Rev. John Key officiating. Burial will follow at Row Cemetery, Colcord, Oklahoma. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, AR.
