SEPTEMBER 8, 1920 – FEBRUARY 24, 2008

Audrey Mae Shawver, 87 year-old resident of Watts, Oklahoma, died February 24, 2008, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab. Born September 8, 1920 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Mart Duncan and Edna Sultana Cole Duncan. She married Vincent Shawver on December 25, 1937. Audrey retired from John Brown University after 36 years. She then ran Eastgate Restaurant, before opening up Audrey’s Diner in Siloam Springs. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers: Ervin Duncan and Clyde Duncan; two sisters: Margaret Bevelyn Duncan and Anna Mae Duncan; and one daughter: Velma Jean Shawver.

Survivors include three sons: J.C. Shawver and wife Barbara of Watts, Oklahoma, Ervin Shawver and wife Janice of Colcord, Oklahoma, Bobby Shawver and wife Sheila of Colcord; two daughters: Mary Lou Barbee of Colcord, Marie Henson and husband Dale of Colcord; one sister: Mary Evelyn Lucas of Jay, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, February 29, 2008 at Wasson Funeral Home, Inc., Siloam Springs, Arkansas with Mr. Larry Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Dickson Cemetery, Cherokee City, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Wasson Funeral Home, Inc., Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
