SALLISAW – The Grove Ridgerunners moved to 4-0 on the baseball season with a 13-7 win over Sallisaw in non-district action on Thursday, pounding out 15 hits in the blowout win.

Grove got most of its production out of the heart of the order, with hitters 2-5 going 7-for-13 with six RBIs. Kaden Livermore led the way for the Ridgerunners with three hits in five at-bats, scoring three times and knocking in a run. The senior outfielder scored the game’s first run on a triple by Erick Ryan in the top of the first inning. Ryan would later score on a passed ball to make it 2-0.

Kody Stephenson added another run in the second with an RBI single and Grove established some breathing room with a three-run third. Justin Tesereau highlighted the inning with a two-run triple, later scoring on a groundout by Jake Spychalski to make it 6-1.

Grove would put the game away with four runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh. Stephenson, Braden Simpson and Gibson Russ all had singles, with Livermore and Russ later scoring on wild pitches in the sixth. Simpson would later double and score in the seventh inning as well.

Stephenson also picked up the win in relief of Ryan, who started the game.

The Ridgerunners will play again on Friday when they host Vinita at 4:30.
