The Jay Bulldogs suffered their first District 4A-3 defeat of the season Friday night when they fell 9-0 to the Catoosa Indians at Earp Stadium.

The game was a battle of defenses.

The JHS (6-3, 5-1) defensive unit kept the Indians out of the end zone all night but the Catoosa (6-3, 5-1) defense managed two scores to make the difference in the ball game.

CHS defensive back Ty Rainey broke a scoreless stalemate off a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown with just over four minutes remaining in the first half.

Catoosa added a safety mid-way through the fourth quarter to make the final.

The Bulldogs now turn their attention to this Friday when they host Grove (5-4, 3-3) in the Delaware County Bowl this Friday.

The Indians host Locust Grove (0-9, 0-6) this Friday.

In other 4A-3 action, Oologah (6-3, 5-1) hosts Collinsville (6-3, 4-2) while McLain (2-6, 1-5) travels to Vinita (3-6, 1-5.)
