The Afton Lady Eagles (8-1, Class A #5) traveled to Seneca (4-5) Tuesday night and resumed their successful season with a 59-47 triumph.

After a see-saw first quarter the Afton defense came to life and held Seneca to five second quarter points as the Lady Eagles took a 33-20 halftime lead.

The Afton offense continued to click in the second half and at one point the Lady Eagles enjoyed a 20-point lead.

Seneca put together a fourth quarter rally but Afton always had the measure of their opponent and secured the win.

Afton’s Macy Gibson was the high scorer in the game with 21. Teammates Darby Todd, with 14, and Shelbie VanPielt, with 13, rounded out the Lady Eagle double-digit producers.

The Lady Eagles travel to Morrison later this week for tournament play. Afton returns home on Tuesday, January 13th in a Lucky Seven game with Welch.
