The Grove Lady Ridgerunners softball team completed their regular season Tuesday with a home contest against Pryor.

The night was christened as Senior Night as parents, fans, and teammates paid tribute to the three upperclassmen on the Lady Red club.

Margaret Pogue is a starting pitcher who also sees duty at first base. Stacia Sarwinski is the starting catcher for the team and Shandi Crossley is the starting right-fielder.

The scoreboard at Lady Red Field Tuesday evening told one story but the GHS softball career of the three student athletes, the thing that was being honored on the occasion, is about many stories and many successes.

With the regular season concluded the team now turns its attention to the post season, specifically today’s district round match up at Vinita.

The squads squared off twice this season. The Lady Hornets took a win at Lady Red Field in August. Two weeks ago Grove took a 3-1 win in Vinita.

The Lady Hornets enter the best two out of three series with a 24-7 record.

The Lady Red came into Tuesday’s contest after a weekend spent at the Oologah Tournament. Grove split four games, dropping a 4-1 decision to 3A #7 Henryetta and a loss to the host team before downing Bristow, #14 in 4A, 1-0, and defeating Tulsa Edison 4-3.

The Lady Red season record stands at 15-15.
