Colcord senior quarterback Canaan Sherrell accounted for 360 yards of offense and all seven touchdowns as the Hornets came back to defeat the Washington Warriors 48-36 in the quarterfinals of the Class 2A football playoffs Friday night.

Sherrell had touchdown runs of 70 and 67 yards as the Hornets reeled off 28 straight points to turn a 28-20 deficit into a 48-28 lead during the third and fourth quarters.

Sherrell also had three touchdown passes, two in the first half, along with a touchdown return of a blocked field goal attempt as time expired in the first half to keep the Hornets close at 21-20 at halftime.

The Hornets, in the semifinals for the first time since 1998, will take on Davis on Saturday, December 4 at one p.m. at Bixby High School.
