WESTVILLE- After losing their opening four games this season, the Oaks Lady Warriors have fought their way back into the thick of things by going 9-3 since their inglorious beginning. And that comeback was further evidenced by the fact that they took the championship at last week’s People’s State Bank Annual Softball Tournament at Westville.

In Tuesday’s pool play, the Lady Warriors skunked Stilwell by an 8-0 score.

And in their 2nd game of the day they rolled over Cave Springs with a 15-0 run rule spanking. Oaks did lose to Roland, 5-1 on Tuesday, but by virtue of the point differential the Oaks girls got the number 1 seed for Wednesday’s tournament play.

And on Wednesday the Oaks ladies bowled over Salina 8-1. That was followed by a 6-5 squeaker over Locust Grove. And in the tournament’s final, with Stephi Wilson on the hill, the Lady Warriors brought home the tournament title with a 9-5 win over Sallisaw.
