VINITA- Vinita wrestling legend Danny Hicks will be conducting a two-day wrestling camp on June 30 and July 1 in the Vinita High School wrestling room.
The cost of the camp is $10 per wrestler and the camp will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the 30th and from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on the 1st. the camp is for elementary, junior high and high school wrestlers.
Hicks was a three-time state champion wrestler at Vinita High School in the late 80ís and early 90s and was an All-American grappler at the Naval Academy.
Hicks is currently the head wrestling coach of the United States Marine Corps. Three other former Vinita wrestling standouts are also expected to help out. Former OSU wrestlers Justin Porter and Newly McSpadden and former OU wrestler Blake Allen (all two-time state champions at Vinita High School) should be on hand for the camp. In addition, Hicks will be bringing several current Marine Corps wrestlers to the camp.
