Football teams across state held their first practices on Tuesday and Delaware County schools were no exception. The Grove Ridgerunners and Jay Bulldogs got things underway despite the heat, which had them practicing later in the day. Teams can only practice in shorts and helmets until today, the first day they can practice in full pads. The Ridgerunners will have their first scrimmage on Friday, August 20, against Sallisaw, Tahlequah Sequoyah and Stigler. The Bulldogs will have their first scrimmage on the same evening against Hilldale.
