TULSA - Senior running back Marquis Brown scored five touchdowns, including three in a decisive second quarter, as the fifth-ranked East Central Cardinals rolled past Grove 57-10.
Brown had 181 yards rushing for East Central (8-1, 6-1 in District 5A-4), which gained 550 yards of total offense.
Malachi Neal also had 181 yards on the ground for the Cardinals, scoring on a 70-yard run in the fourth quarter.
The Ridgerunners (3-6, 1-5) got their only points of the night in the fourth quarter. Anthony Krause hit a 37-yard field goal to end the shut out, and Kyle Summerfield caught a 12-yard pass from Jake Spychalski for the final margin.
The Cardinals, who led 36-0 at the half, moved into second place in the district with their win and Central's 24-21 loss to Coweta. East Central will play next week against Claremore.
Grove finishes out the regular season next week with a trip to Tahlequah.
