Sam Williams at the Grand Lake Sports Center tells me that he is getting some good crappie reports. Folks are catching them as shallow as 10 feet around boat docks on both minnows and jigs.

Also boat fishing is good in brush piles about 20 feet deep.

A good choice to use with a jig is the

Bobby Garland Baby Shad according to Sam. The clearer colors are working best.

It really seems like that we are on the rebound for crappie fishing on Grand!

Hank Souders told me that the spoonbill is in their winter hangouts around the deep water at Sailboat Bridge and if you can read your depthfinder you can snag them.

Tony Coatney reported that the blacks are biting really good using spinner baits and jigs.

I think I would tip my jig with the new Biffle Bug.

I am still in Texas guiding on Lake Fork for crappie and will not be home for awhile so I am getting reports from the experts on Grand.

If anyone is interested in a great Mexico bass fishing trip we have openings for the last of January or first of February.
