Ridgerunner football now selling stadium seats
Grove Public Schools athletic director Will Jones has announced that stadium seats for the upcoming 2011 football season are now available.
Those that purchased seats last season can renew their seats until May 1. After that date, all unreserved seats will be open to the public. Until May 1, only seats that were not sold last season are available to the general public.
The cost for stadium seats is $100 per seat and includes all five home games for the 2011 season. Home games for the 2011 season will include; Miami, Wagoner, Coweta, Claremore and Pryor.

Local American Red Cross chapter to host pair of fundraisers
The Craig, Delaware and Ottawa County chapter of the American Red Cross will be holding fundraisers in March and April.
The Harlem Ambassadors will be holding a basketball show at Vinita High School on Friday, March 25. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the show scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
Tickets bought in advance are $8 for students and seniors, $10 for adults. Tickets are $2 more if bought at the door. Group discounts are available for parties of 10 or more.
Tickets can be purchased at the American Red Cross office in Vinita or at Carter’s Food Center in Vinita. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 918-256-6143 or 918-200-5413.
The American Red Cross will also be hosting a golf tournament at Shangri La on Friday, April 29. Tee time is approximately 1-1:30 p.m.
The entry fee is $400 per team. Corporate sponsorships are $500, which includes a team of four plus a hole sponsorship. Hole sponsorships without a team are $200 each.
An after party and awards ceremony will be held at Road Hog Saloon after the tournament.

Patricia Island Ladies Golf Association Meeting
The snow has melted….The weather is warming up…Time to think GOLF! All ladies who are interested in playing 18 holes of golf every Thursday are invited to attend our organizational meeting at the Patricia Island Golf Club clubhouse on Thursday, March 31 at 10 a.m. Come and meet a great group of ladies, who love the game. The first day of play will be April 7.
Grand Lake YMCA hosting Challenge
The Grand Lake YMCA is hosting its inaugural Grand Lake Challenge on April 2 and 16 in Grove. Teams of 10 will compete in dodgeball, a 5K, track events, horseshoes and more.
Each participant must be 18 or older and will receive a t-shirt. The entry fee is $400 per team.

12th Annual Fairland Lions Club Golf Tournament
The 12th Annual Dr. Bill Goodman Memorial Golf Tournament will be held by the Fairland Lions Club on Saturday April 16 at Peoria Ridge Golf Course near Miami.
The tournament is a four-person scramble with individual competitive evens and a Pink Lady team competition. The fee of $65 per player includes a cart, lunch, treats, prizes and other amenities.
A $1 million prize for a hole-in-one at a designated hole and a $5,000 putting prize will be available. The putting contest will consist of a three-putt combination format. Every tournament player may participate in this stand-alone putting contest and will be allowed one attempts to hole a 10-foot putt. If successful the player will then be allowed one attempt to hole a 30-foot putt. If successful, the player is then allowed one attempt to hole a 50-foot putt for the 50-foot prize. Since there can only be one $5,000 winner, if more than one player is successful at the 50-foot putt, a “putt-off” will be conducted to determine the final winner.
Players need to be at the golf course by 8 a.m. to sign in. The tournament will get underway with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The make up date in case of rain is April 23.
Peoria Ridge is located 2.5 miles east of Will Rogers Turnpike Miami exit and 1/4 mile south off Highway 10.
Businesses and professional establishments throughout the Tri-State area contribute to the fundraising success of the tournament as sponsors of holes along the course and by donating prizes. Proceeds are used to provide youth projects, community improvement projects, eyesight needs, and emergency relief assistance in Northeastern Oklahoma.
