The festival will continue on Wednesday at 10 a.m. when the Grove J.V. takes on their Delaware County neighbors from Kansas. The Lady Comets will then take on Collinsville at 11:45. Collinsville will then play Bixby before the Grove varsity takes on the Lady Spartans at approximately 3:15.
Lady Ridgerunners open district at Tahlequah
In addition to the festival, Grove softball will travel to Tahlequah on Friday to take on a Lady Tiger squad that is among the favorites to win the district.
The Lady Tigers, who led 5A with 38 wins last season on their way to the state semifinals, will be attempting to replace four starters from last year's team, including University of Oklahoma signee Erica Sampson. Sampson led the squad with 14 home runs and 13 triples in 2010.
But Tahlequah will return seven seniors, including Jenna Reed, who batted .443 with 11 doubles last season. The Lady Tigers also return starting pitcher Brittany Johnson, who went 31-3 with a 2.10 ERA and 135 strikeouts last year while also batting .363.
First pitch for Friday's game will be 5 p.m. in Tahlequah.
