Led by Ethan Burke’s state championship at 132 pounds, the Colcord Hornets won the Small School State Powerlifting Championship on March 12 in McLoud.

The Hornets finished with 66 points, 11 more than runner-up Holdenville. The title is the first in school history in the sport. The Hornets also finished as the top team in 2A.

In addtion to Burke, other medalists for the Hornets included; Darwin Davis, third at 168 pounds; Tommy Pack, fifth at 168 pounds; Dustin DeMoss, fourth at 181 pounds; Nathan Humbyrd, fourth at 198 pounds; Blake Sumpter, fourth at 275 pounds.
