Though rain may be playing havoc with their schedule, the Grove Lady Red continues to climb up in the coaches’ softball rankings.

The Lady Red moved up to sixth in the most recent poll released on Tuesday. With their 10-5 record, the Lady Red trails Pryor, Tahlequah and McAlester among teams on the east side of the state. Lawton McArthur continues to hold the number one ranking in 5A.

The Lady Red will have another chance to move further up the polls when they travel to Sand Springs for a tournament beginning today and continuing tomorrow.

GHS will open play today with a game against Norman North at 11:30 before continuing the tournament with games against Bishop Kelley at 3:00 and Sapulpa at 4:30.

Grove will open play bright and early on Saturday with a game against the host Lady Sandites, the sixth ranked team in 6A. They will follow that game with a 10:30 contest against Tonkawa.

GHS will close out the tournament with a final medal round game, with the time and opponent to be determined.
