The Afton Eagles football squad suffered through their first loss of the season last Friday but look set to return to the winnerís circle this week as they host the Quapaw Wildcats.

The Eagles (3-1) will be facing off against a Wildcat squad that has yet to win a game this season. The Wildcats (0-4) have dropped contests to Springfield Christian (MO), Salina, Ketchum, and Oklahoma Union.

The 1A District 8 contest is set to kick off at 7:30 PM.

In other Afton news, the Eagles High School Athletic Department held an auction fundraiser in late September that met with big success.

Eagle student-athletes prepared a variety of food items for donors to bid upon, including pies, pizza, ribs, and fried chicken. More than one complete boxed meal was auctioned off as well.

Afton HS Athletic Director Randy Gardner served as the auctioneer for the event, which raised over $1,000 for Eagle athletics.
