"font-size: 10pt">MONKEY ISLAND – The Grove Ridgerunners missed
winning the Kick Off Classic at Shangri La on Monday by one stroke,
finishing second to the Tahlequah Tigers.
"font-size: 10pt">The Tigers had a team score of 329. Pryor (336),
Miami (371) and Jay (379) were the other teams in the
"font-size: 10pt">Individually, Grove’s Trae Fairchild claimed the
title with a round of 74, five strokes better than Tahlequah’s
Travis Tinin. Tyler Busch just missed out on making it a one-two
finish for the Ridgerunners, finishing with a round of
"font-size: 10pt">Jay’s Devon Goddard (81) and Pryor’s Corey Ramsey
(82) rounded out the top five individuals.
"font-size: 10pt">The tournament also featured best ball and
scramble formats. In those divisions Grove claimed a pair of third
place finishes. The team of Patrick Lippitt and Jared Perryman shot
an 89 in the best ball division. Pryor won the event with a 77,
while Tahlequah finished second with an 85.
"font-size: 10pt">In the scramble format Grove’s Ben Tate and Mike
Boone shot an 87 to take third.
"font-size: 10pt">The Ridgerunner golfers will be back in action on
Friday when they travel to Ardmore. The Lady Ridgerunners will open
their links season on March 30 when they play at the Cherokee Golf
Club in Langley.
