MIAMI - Behind heavyweight Josh Friend's dominant championship run, the Grove Ridgerunners finished in fourth place at the Miami Invitational wrestling tournament on Saturday.

Friend pinned all four of his opponents, finishing off his tournament by pinning Owasso's Brandon Johnson in the finals in 5:43 to claim first.

Blake Clodfelter was the only other Ridgerunner to reach the championship finals, falling to Miami's Jay Mann by an 11-5 decision.

Anthony Krause finished third at 195 pounds, while Josh Popp (126 pounds) and Mike Boone (160 pounds) each finished fourth.

Lane Elsempter (113 pounds), John Tune (132 pounds) and Drew Hardy (170 pounds) all finished in fifth place, while Devan Kramer finished seventh at 106 and Bill Nixon finished sixth at 220.

Joseph Weinrich (120 pounds), Josh Perez (138 pounds), Jordan Blythe (145 pounds), Wesley Swingle (152 pounds) all finished in eighth place.

Owasso claimed the team title, while Miami finished second and Caney Valley claimed third.

The Ridgerunners will wrestle again on January 5 when they host Coweta.
