If you have any information or news about golf please let me know at 918-257-4967 or email me at stevepace.golf@yahoo.com. We’d like to hear about “Hole-in-Ones” or even “Eagles” and especially “Double Eagles”. Let us know if you shoot your age. That is good news. Any golf news is always good news

HOLE IN ONE REPORT

Reported by my friend at Patricia Island Golf Course, Randall Hendricks:

Gary Wilson aced hole #16 at Patricia Island this past week. Hole 16 is a par 3, but is about 160 yards. Congrats to Gary.

GOLF TIP of the WEEK

During your set up and address to the ball, feel your elbows pulling towards each other. Maintain that feeling in the back swing for as long as you can. This will assure that your lead arm is straight. Let you trailing elbow bend and stay close to your body, while your lead arm maintains its straightness.

ATTENTION LADIES - $10 at 10:00

This is getting close to the end, so try to make it.

Patricia Island Golf Club and I are still offering a regular one hour Saturday morning Ladies Golf Clinic. We will meet each Saturday morning at 10 AM at the Patricia Island Driving Range. Anyone can come from beginners to experienced lady players. We will do golf swing analysis and spot checks on the range and also offer group instruction on various facets of the game. The only charge will be $10 per Saturday. Bring a friend along. We also have loaner clubs if you need them.  I guarantee that this will be fun and informative.

Please spread the word and bring a friend next Saturday. (Weather sensitive)

GOLF JOKE of the WEEK

A young man who was also an avid golfer found himself with a few hours to spare one afternoon. He figured if he hurried and played very fast, he could get in nine holes before he had to head home. Just as he was about to tee off an old gentleman shuffled onto the tee and asked if he could accompany the young man as he was golfing alone. Not being able to say no, he allowed the old gent to join him.

To his surprise the old man played fairly quickly. He didn't hit the ball far, but plodded along consistently and didn't waste much time. Finally, they reached the 9th fairway and the young man found himself with a tough shot. There was a large pine tree right in front of his ball - and directly between his ball and the green.

After several minutes of debating how to hit the shot the old man finally said, "You know, when I was your age I'd hit the ball right over that tree."

With that challenge placed before him, the youngster swung hard, hit the ball up, right smack into the top of the tree trunk and it thudded back on the ground not a foot from where it had originally lay.

The old man offered one more comment, "Of course, when I was your age that pine tree was only three feet tall."
