The Grove second grade football team endured long travel and a host of tough competition to claim the INFC second grade championship in Bixby on Saturday.  After an 8-0-1 regular season the Ridgerunners entered the tournament on a terrific season.

After traveling to Tulsa five times in seven days and facing two undefeated teams the Ridgerunners held serve and defeated the TYAA Bulldogs 13-0 to claim the championship.

The league consisted of 60 teams in the second grade division. This year was the first that TYAA did not win the championship since INFC began over 10 years ago. TYAA also won championships this season in all divisions except second grade.

This year's championship was the first for head coach Charlie Apperson, who has been coaching the team for over 10 years.
