The Kansas Lady Comets will take on the Booker T. Washington Lady Hornets in the first round of the 47th annual Cherokee Nation Entertainment Tournament of Champions on Wednesday, December 28 at 4 p.m. at the Mabee Center in Tulsa.

Tournament organizers released the pairings for both the boys' and girls' sides during a luncheon Wednesday at the Marriott Southern Hills in Tulsa.

The girls' side of the tournament, formerly known as the Oklahoma's Best Tournament, had previously been held during the first tournament week of the season in early December. The event has been combined with the boys' Tournament of Champions beginning this year, and will run from December 28 to December 30.

The Lady Comets won the event two years ago and last year fell in the finals to Tulsa East Central.

The winner of the matchup between the Lady Comets and the Lady Hornets will take on the winner between Fort Gibson and Copan in a semifinal tip off at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 29. The losers will play at 3:30 that afternoon.

Fort Gibson and Copan will tip off at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Other first round matchups on the girls's side include East Central v Adair (9 a.m.)and Vinita v Jenks (noon).

Placement games will be played on Friday with the girls' championship game set for 7 p.m. The girls' third place game will be at 5:30, the fifth place game at 1:30 and the seventh place game at 10:30 a.m.

On the boys' side the first round matchups will be; Union v Caddo (10:30 a.m.), Vinita v Forgan 8:30 p.m.), Pawnee v OKC McGuiness (1:30 p.m.) and Booker T. Washington v Washington (5:30 p.m.). Friday's semifinals will be at 4:00 and 7 p.m. while consolation games will be at 9 a.m. and noon.
