Grove is set to host the number four team in 5A, the Claremore Lady Zebras.

The Lady Zebras are 5-4 on the season. Clarmore's wins come from Coweta (50-36), Glenpool (91-28), #20 Memorial (54-28), #12 Pryor (42-32) and Rogers, AR. The Lady Zebras have losses, 6A #9 Norman North (59-47), #6 Shawnee (34-30), Holland Hall (64-53) and Siloam Springs (67-62). All four losses are tournament losses, Claremore placed fourth in both the Bishop Kelley tournament and in the Siloam Springs tournament.

"We'll have our hands full," said Grove head coach Richard Bassett. "They're coming back from last year, getting beat in the finals of 5A in overtime. They've lost their big post girl, but everybody else is back."

The Lady Zebras are led by senior Lauren Chancellor has scored over 100 points this season. Junior Bre Farmer has over 60 points, while Abbey Cox and Lauren Hardager have also gotten on the board.

"They're just a really, really talented team who's had a lot of experience, a lot of seniors on there, who've been at the next level and who have played at the state tournament level and played in the finals. It'll be a very good challenge for us," said Bassett.

Macee Barnes is the leading scorer for the Lady Red, followed by Kelsea Gorham, Blaise Redus and Madyson Kraft.

Grove is on a four game win streak and has improved to a 4-3 record. The Lady Red have losses to #11 Skiatook (52-42), #8 Tahlequah (55-25) and top ranked Collinsville (49-33). Grove's wins come from games against Okmulgee (33-28), Caney Valley (33-23), Skiatook (47-41) and Jay (48-26).

Bassett is glad to be playing a home game.

"It feels like we haven't played at home any this year, I'm glad to be back," said Bassett. "Once we get back after the 27th... we'll have a lot of home games."

Tipoff will be at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, in Grove.
