OCTOBER 8, 1924 - MARCH 16, 2009

GROVE - Margaret Ann “Maggie” Arlint, age 84, Grove, Oklahoma, formerly of Joplin, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2009 at Integris Grove Hospital after a sudden illness.

Margaret was born October 8, 1924 in Joplin, daughter of the late Edmund Gilbreath and Fanny May Hoskins Gilbreath.  She graduated from Joplin High School, and worked for Southwestern Bell as an operator in Joplin and Kansas City for over 20 years, and returned to Joplin and worked for St. John’s Regional Medical Center and Freeman Hospital for several years before retiring as a PBX operator.  She later worked for Big Smith in Carthage, Missouri as a final inspector.  She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and South Joplin Christian Church.  She and her husband, Hal, moved to Grove, Oklahoma about 15 years ago after he retired as Manager of the Joplin Regional Airport.

Survivors include her husband, Harold O. “Hal” Arlint of Grove; daughter, Melody L. Gideon and husband Mike of Joplin; grandsons, Christopher M. Gideon and wife Karen of Carl Junction, Missouri and Jerrad E. Gideon of Webb City, Missouri; great-grandchildren, T.J. Gideon, Abby Gideon, and Makahia Gideon.

In keeping with Maggie’s request, no memorial services are planned.

 Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
