It is with great sorrow that we announce the departure of Patty from our lives as we currently know them today. Patty expired on February 27, 2011, at the hands of one of the cruelest diseases, with which many families of today are put into a position to have to deal with, best know as Alzheimer’s.

Patty arrived into this life on July 25, 1930 in the town of Stigler, Okla. She has been a resident of Grove for the past fifty-five years, and is best known in the Grove community for her many years of service in retail clothing sales. Patty first began this trek with ownership of a children’s apparel store know as Lad’s and Lassie’s. She later moved on to service in the Casual Shop, and in her final years, served as manager for Ramsey’s Department Store on the corner of 3rd and Main in downtown Grove.

Patty was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Donald, as well as her beloved daughter, Donna Sue.

Patty is survived by her son Tim, of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Lynda Bedwell, Nathan Galloway, Anthony Galloway, and Donald Webster, all of the Houston area. She as well leaves behind two beautiful great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Rosie Bedwell, also of Houston, Texas.

A graveside celebration of Patty’s life was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Olympus Cemetery of Grove.

Funeral services are being arranged by Jim Thomas Thomas Funeral Home of Welch, Okla., with this effort being coordinated by Brian Nichols.

At this time the family would like to thank the past and present citizenship of the Grove community, who contributed to many joys in Patty’s life.

As Patty’s son, I would personally like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of Shady Rest Care Center of Pryor, Okla. for their thoughtfulness and care to Patty’s special needs in her final months of life. I would also like to thank the staff of the Rivercross Hospice Group, and especially Sue Weaver who served to make my life more at ease knowing she was always there for my mother during times I was in Houston.

May God be with Patty as she moves on to whatever our Father has in store for us in our next realm of life.
