RONALD WAYNE JORDAN, SR.
SEPTEMBER 13, 1945 - DECEMBER 23, 2008
GROVE - Ronald Wayne Jordan, Sr., 63, formerly of Arkansas City, currently of Grove, Oklahoma, died Tuesday December 23, 2008 at the Freeman Health System Medical Center of Joplin, Missouri. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday (December 27, 2008) at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Private interment will be held at a later date in the Olypus Cemetery of Grove, Oklahoma.
Ron was born September 13, 1945, in Arkansas City, to Milton and Helen (Arnold) Jordan. He was reared and educated in Arkansas City attending local schools. Ron served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He later graduated from Arkansas City Junior College (Cowley College) with a degree in police science. Ron served as a police officer in Arkansas City, as well as a Cowley County Sheriff’s Deputy for several years before working as a head operator for Total Petroleum for several years until it closed. He married Linda Haas on February 19, 1965 in Arkansas City. The couple moved to Grove upon Ron’s retirement from Total. She preceded him in death in 2006.
Survivors include a son Ronald W. Jordan, Jr. of Winfield; a daughter Ronda and her husband Jason Porter of Arkansas City; his mother Helen Jordan of San Angelo, Texas; a brother Robert Jordan of San Angelo, Texas; five granddaughters Shellie, Heather, Jessica, Haley and Kasyn; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and wife Linda.
A memorial has been established with the Midwest Organ Transplant Services. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
