Bonnie Maxine Ahrens, 77, of Anderson, Mo., departed this life Thursday, September 10, 2009, at the Freeman Hospital East in Joplin, Mo., after years of declining health.
Maxine entered this life Jan. 17, 1932, in Colcord, Okla. one of eleven children born to the late Henry W. and Sarah Lula (Foreman) Beck. She was united in marriage to Charlie Bill Ahrens April 14, 1950, to this union three sons were born. She has resided in McDonald County since moving here in 1963 from the state of Colorado. Throughout her life she was a hardworking and devoted homemaker to her husband and family. She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard and reading her Bible but most of all she cherished time spent with her family. She was a member of the Immanuel Assembly of God Church in Noel, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charlie Bill Ahrens, Feb. 21, 1981; six sisters; and two brothers.
Maxine is survived by her three sons, Billy Ahrens and wife, Patricia, of Goodman, Mo., Rex Ahrens of Noel, Mo. and Ricky Ahrens of Anderson, Mo.; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rita Taylor of Noel, Mo. and Lola Clark of Neosho, Mo.; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Bonnie Maxine Ahrens were at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. The Rev. Mark Wholwend officiated. Burial followed in the Lanagan Cemetery in Lanagan, Mo. Those who honored her life by serving as pallbearers were Ross Ahrens, Mike Hoffman, Gary Duke, Eddie Tweedy, Scott Woodworth and Robert Anderson.
