Twila Blevins, lifetime area resident passed away Saturday, December 19, 2009 following an extended illness.
Twila was born in Southwest City, Missouri on May 22, 1943, the daughter of Joe and Maye (Niman) Payton. She married Quinton Blevins on December 8, 1961 in Miami, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed gardening and fishing, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Twila was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Payton in 1990 and Nancy Payton in 1993, and one sister, Melanie Lynch in 2005.
Twila is survived by her husband, Quinton Blevins of the home, one daughter, Judy Kemp and husband Jeff; one son, Luke Blevins and wife Regina of Sulfur Springs, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Derek Flaming and wife Alex of Fort Drum, New York, Amber Fisher and husband Matt of Colcord, Oklahoma, Katie Blevins and Payton Blevins, both of Sulfur Springs, Arkansas; and three great-grand children, Austin Flaming of Fort Drum, New York, Malinda Wright and Justin Wright, both of Colcord, Oklahoma; and one sister, Wanda Blevins of Southwest City, Missouri.
Graveside Services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at Indianola Cemetery, Delaware County, Oklahoma. Rev. Benny Lukens will officiate.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 – 8 pm on Monday, December 21, 2009 at Funeral Services of Grand Lake Chapel, Jay, Oklahoma.
