JULY 7, 1912 - MARCH 18, 2009

SILOAM SPRINGS, AR - Julia E. “Billie” Holliday, 96, of Siloam Springs, AR, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at the Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital.

Billie was born on July 7, 1912, in Center Point, Iowa, a daughter of Walter Miller and Elsie Brown Miller.

She was the widow of the late Rondel E. Holliday who preceded her in death.

Billie worked for many years as the Cafeteria Manager for John Brown University. After her retirement she went to work for the Siloam Springs High School in its cafeteria, then retiring once again she volunteered at the kitchen for the Siloam Springs Senior Activity Center up until a week before her passing.

She was a member of the Harvard Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include; one son Jim Holliday Siloam Springs, AR, one daughter Pam Ferguson Bolivar, MO, four  Grandchildren and seven Great Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Services were held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 10:30 am. Dr. Jim Walters and Rev, Dan Crenshaw will officiate the service. A private burial will be held at the Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs. Visitation was at the funeral home on Friday, March 20, 2009 from 6pm to 8pm.
