Longtime resident of Fairland, Oklahoma, Mr. Robert E. Love passed from this life on Friday morning June 11, 2010 at his home in Fairland, he was 96.

Robert was born at Mountain Grove, Missouri on May 24, 1914 to his parents Frank and Tru Heckman Love. Robert worked and retired from the Frisco Railroad as a signalman. He and Elizabeth were married August 23, 1940 and lived in Fairland since 1946. Robert has been a faithful member of First United Methodist Church Fairland for many years. He started the tape ministry for the shut-ins and served as a trustee for many years at the church. Robert was a faithful servant.

Although Robert is no longer with us, his memory and legacy will be kept alive through the family and friends he leaves behind which include his wife of 70 years, Elizabeth Love, of the home; two daughters, Byrkie and husband John Horn of Grove, Oklahoma and  Arlene Chriswell of Springfield, Missouri; two sons, Jim and wife Patty Love of Fairland, Oklahoma and Larry and wife Angie Love of Langley, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a host of longtime friends, neighbors and church family.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday June 14, 2010 at Fairland First United Methodist Church with Rev. Carole Minter officiating. Interment followed at Fairland Cemetery. The family received friends for visitation on Sunday afternoon June 13, 2010 at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home of Fairland from 3 to 4:30.
