"3">Elmer Ray Zwahlen, 76, of Wyandotte, Oklahoma passed away April

4, 2011 at St. John’s Medical Center of a massive stroke. He died

with his family by his side.

 

"3">Ray was born June 20, 1934 to Elmer and Mildred (Fast) Zwahlen

in the Sherman City area.

 

"3">He graduated from Columbus High School in 1952

"Times New Roman, serif">and

was united in

marriage to Shirley Kay Davis on October 25, 1952. They celebrated

58 years of marriage in 201

"Times New Roman, serif">. He was a member of the

Faulkner Christian Church and attended Center Christian Church. Ray

farmed, worked at Spencer Chemical and BF Goodrich retiring in

1993. The couple moved  from the Zwahlen Farm to Grand Lake,

Oklahoma

simple country

man. One of his greatest pleasures in life was fishing. Grand Lake

and the Neosho River will miss him. He so enjoyed picking those

pecans, watching the Columbus Titans, his grandsons wrestle,

hunting, bowling (he won the quarter pot Thursday) and going to the

casino’s. Life was good.

Center Christian Church with Justin Coberley officiating. Interment

will follow in McKee Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday

evening from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Murdock Funeral Home, Columbus,

Kansas. Memorials may be made to the Center Christian Church with

Murdock Funeral Home serving as custodian. Online condolences may
