Pearl A. Kepner of Owego, Kan. passed away Monday, August 23, 2010 at the Labette County Medical Center in Parson, Kan. after an illness. She was 97 years old.
Pearl was born October 2, 1913 in Oswego, Kan. to Albert and Amanda (Green) Buffington. She was the wife of longtime Oswego resident, Carl Kepner. She was a talented painter and an avid homemaker. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, William A. LaPee and Stanley W. LaPee; one brother; and three sisters.
She is survived by her loving husband; one son, Myrle LaPee of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; two daughters, JoAnn Rife of Grove, Okla. and Carol Corvelli of Arvada, Colo.; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; many other relatives; and a host of friends.
There was a visitation for family and friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2010 at the Thomas Funeral Home, Welch, Okla.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the Thomas Funeral Home, Welch, Okla. with Rev. Raymond Whetstone officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Ken LaPee, Grant Kepner, Ernie Shleton, Bret Watkins, David Barrett, Langston Polk, Randy Rife and Dusty LaPee.Internment was at Oswego Cemetery, Oswego, Kan.
Services were under the directions of Jim Thomas, Thomas Funeral Home, Welch, Okla.
