1933 - 2009
Norma Jeane (Harris) Standeford, age 76, of Grove, Oklahoma and formerly of Topeka, Kan., died on Saturday Dec 5, 2009 in Joplin, Mo. following a sudden illness.
Norma was born in Alluwe, Okla. on May 8, 1933 to James Wesley & Bonnie Marie Harris. She married Tommy Jack Standeford on Jan 2, 1951 in Nowata, Okla. They shared 59 wonderful years of love and marriage.
She is survived by her husband Tommy of Grove and a son & daughter-in-law Todd & Michelle Standeford of Topeka, Kan. and one daughter Sheri Guesby and one grandson Cody Guesby of Grove, two brothers and two sisters, Janet Allred of Grove, Jim Harris, Judy Marshall, and Jerry Harris, all of Bartlesville, Okla.
In July of 2005, Norma dedicated her life and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was a member of the Grove, Okla. congregation and had also been a member of the Miami, Okla. congregation.
Some of Norma’s greatest pleasures were spending time with her family and the inumerable friends they have met through the years, as well as taking care of anyone in need. She loved beautiful flowers and birds and all the glorious creations of her God, Jehovah. Wherever she was, whatever she touched blossomed and grew through her love.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 8 at 1 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, East of the City of Grove, Okla. (Hwy SH-10). Family and friends will gather following the service at Cedar Oaks R.V. Resort.
