Albert Leroy Sarten, 57 years 6 months 13 days of Colcord, Okla. passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at the Tahlequah City Hospital in Tahlequah, Okla.
Albert was born March 6, 1953 in Siloam Springs, Ark.; he was the son of Erman Jasper Sarten and Winnie Louise (Norris) Sarten. Albert had worked for Simmons Ind. and later as a caretaker for his parents. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, looking after his dogs. Albert was a member of the National Rifle Association and was a member of the Mt. View Church near Twin Oaks, Okla.
Survivors include: two sisters, Wanda Squire and husband Tom, Kansas, Okla. and Margy Sarten , Siloam Springs, Ark.; three brothers, Leonard Sarten and wife Diane, Siloam Springs, Ark., Cecil Sarten, Siloam Springs, Ark. and Thomas (Ed) Sarten and wife Yvonne, Westville, Okla. Albert is also survived by a host of family and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Lee Sarten.
Visitation was held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m.
A graveside service was held at Allen Cemetery in West Siloam Springs, Okla. on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Skip Hanvey officiating the service under the direction of Backstrom – Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark.
