Jacky E. Depue, resident of Fairland, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009, after a sudden illness. He was 77.
Mr. Depue was born September 25, 1932, at Monmouth, KS, to Murl and Bertha (Sartin) Depue. He was a veteran, having served in the US Navy for 17 years, and in the US Marine Corp. for four years. He moved to Fairland in 2004, coming from Weir, KS, and was a member of the Fairland Christian Church.
He married Carolyn Ann Southern on Oct. 20, 2004, at Fairland. She survives of the home. Other survivors include two sons and their wives, Jack and Sandra Depue of O’Fallon, MO., James and Gretchen Depue of Hallam, NE, a step-son and his wife, Ken and Genna Carter of Mosul, Iraq, a daughter and her husband, Janet and Terry Laudett of Glenpool, OK, a step-daughter, Dawn Carter of McKinney, TX, two brothers, Donald Depue of Independence, MO., and Bobby Depue of Greenwood, MO., and two grandchildren, Stacie Depue and Christopher Laudett.
He was preceded by his parents, two brothers, Larry Depue and Merle Depue, and a sister, Elizabeth Thomas.
A funeral will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at Fairland Christian Church, with Minister Truman Brady officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Jack Depue, James Depue, Bobby Depue, Donald Depue, Scott Depue, and Christopher Depue. Honorary pallbearers will be Stacie Depue, Larry Depue, and Stephen Foster.
Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at Monmouth Cemetery in Monmouth,KS.
Arrangements provided by Adcock Funeral Home in Fairland. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Fairland Christian Church of McCune, KS Public Library.
