MISSION, TX - Donald Gene Kindley, 77, of Bluebonnet RV Park, fought a valiant battle against cancer.† On January 7th, surrounded by his family, he laid down the pain and stepped into the waiting arms of his Savior.

Don was born in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and graduated from Madison, Kansas.† He spent 37 years working for Phillips Petroleum Company, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, taking early retirement in 1984.

In 1951 he married Irene Stephens and they had 2 daughters, Jeannie and Rhonda.† Throughout their marriage they lived in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Elgin, Sedan, and Caney, Kansas, and Grove, Oklahoma before settling in Mission, Texas.† Don accepted Jesus at an early age and was currently a member of the Central Christian Church of McAllen.† He was Youth Leader with the Lay Renewal Program for several years.

Don and Irene greatly enjoyed participating in the Gospel Jams at Bluebonnet and made many wonderful friends from all over the US and Canada.† A memorial Jam will be held Saturday, January 10th at 2 p.m. at the park.† Everyone who knew and loved Don and Irene are invited to participate.† For more information, contact the office at Bluebonnet.

Don leaves to cherish his memory:† wife Irene of Mission, daughters Jeannie Wickware of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Rhonda and Jim Hershey of Belton, Texas, grandchildren Shawna Phillips, Nathan Ledbetter, Jason Hershey, and Lauren Hershey, 4 great-grandchildren, brother Norman, sisters Ruth, Lois, and Freida and Jessie Huston of Sharyland Villa RV Park, Mission, and dear friends and family too numerous to mention.
