Terry Shelley, 60, of Grove, Oklahoma, was called to heaven at 9:06 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
Terry began his journey on March 29, 1951 in Cushing, Oklahoma, one of three children born to Otis and Jeannette (Creacy) Shelley. He married the love of his life, Becky Dvorak on June 27, 1981. Terry proudly served his country in the United States Navy. They moved to Grove, Oklahoma in 1997 coming from Knob Noster, Missouri. Terry retired from AT&T in May following 33 years as a Customer Service Technician. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. Terry cherished time spent with his family and friends. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Grove, Oklahoma.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Otis Shelley and mother-in-law, Alice Dvorak.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Becky Shelley of the home; his mother, Jeannette Shelley of Perry, Oklahoma; father-in-law, Frank Dvorak of Perry, Oklahoma; a son, Christopher Shelley and wife, Angie of Waco, Texas; a daughter, Ashley Shelley of Grove, Oklahoma; a brother Bruce Shelley of Perry, Oklahoma; a sister, Rhonda Harryman and husband, Gil of Edmond, Oklahoma; two brothers-in-law, Scott Dvorak and wife, Carol, Mike Dvorak and wife, Pam all of Perry, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, McKayla Shelley, Colin Shelley and Cameron Shelley all of Waco, Texas; as well as a host of other family, friends and neighbors that will dearly miss Terry and his wonderful smile.
Funeral services for Terry Shelley will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Grove, Oklahoma. Reverend Randy Hamill will officiate. Burial will follow the service at the Olympus Cemetery in Grove, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at the Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma from 6 - 8 p.m. The family will receive friends at this time.
