1929 – 2009
Jesse Conley of Fairland died Oct. 26, 2009.
Mr. Conley was born March 19, 1929, in Kenwood to Columbus and Idell (Gammel) Conley. He lived in Fairland since 1978.
He was a veteran of the Navy, Army and National Guard for more than 30 years. He and his wife owned and operated Green Country Wrought Iron and Welding retiring in 1995. He was a member of the American Legion.
He married Barbara Hurley on April 2, 1974, in Salina. She survives, of the home.
Additional survivors include sons, Ronnie Conley and J.D. Conley, both of Salina and Steven Hurley and Floyd C. Hurley, both of Orange, CA.; daughter, Marcia Hurley of Fairland; brother, Doyle Conley of Rose; sisters, Dorothy Williams of Salina and Daisy Jones of Pryor, 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Conley.
Services were 1 p.m. Thursday at Shipman Funeral Home in Pryor. Burial was in Welch Prairie Cemetery in Rose.
