JUNE 30, 1942 - DECEMBER 5, 2008

GROVE - Linsley Charles “Bud” Hammons, age 66, Grove, OK, died December 5, 2008. He was born June 30, 1942 in Oldfield, MO, the son of Charles Joseph and Alta Marie (Moody) Hammons.

Bud was proud to be a veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He served on the USS Preble during his two tours of duty and was awarded two Bronze Star awards.

Bud worked as an electronic technician during and after Vietnam. He was active in many Bass fishing clubs and organizations. Bud enjoyed participating in fishing tournaments. He loved the outdoors and hunting.

Survivors include: his mother, Alta Hammons, Ozark; his sister, Nina Batchelor and husband Allan, Ozark; and a special friend, Rosemary Larsen, Nevada, MO.

Bud was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark with Freddie and David Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Old Boston Cemetery. Visitation wasbe from 5-7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
