Charles F. Dudley, age 64, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008 in Sun City, Ariz.
Services: Memorial services will be held in Grand Rapids in June 2008, exact date to be determined. Burial will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in St. Paul, Minn.
Charles “Chuck” was born in 1943 in Grand Rapids to Charlotte and Paul Dudley.
He graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1961, Bemidji State University in 1974 and 1976 with degrees in education and counseling. His career in education was with the Department of Defense Dependent Schools in Okinawa, Japan and London, England retiring in 2003. He was proud to have served in the US Air Force from 1961-64. Charles loved to play games, both board and card, was an avid golfer and bowler, and enjoyed all spectator sports.
Since retirement Charles and Joyce have spent six months at their lake home on Sugar Lake, near Grand Rapids and six months in Sun City, Ariz.
Charles is survived by his wife, Joyce Walker Dudley; a son Paul R. Dudley; a daughter Leah J. Schmitz; two granddaughters Molly and Allyson Dudley; a sister Jane H. Bodley of Burnside, Australia; a special niece Anne P. Bodley and many other nieces and nephews.
