Ann V. N. Solliday McDowell, formerly of Monkey Island and living in Tulsa, departed this life Dec. 7, 2009 at Salina, Kansas.

Anne was born on June 4, 1926 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Albert Lafayette (Sol) Solliday and Daisy Moody Solliday. The family moved from Tulsa in 1930 where she attended Lee Elementary, Horace Mann Jr. High, and Central High Schools, Class of 1944. She attended Monticello College, Alton, Illinois and graduated from the University of Oklahoma, Class of 1948.

In April 1949 she married Robert D. White of Muskogee with whom she had three children, Dee Anne, Robert M. and Jeanne S. In 1986 she married Robert W. McDowell, J.R. who survives her. He brought her five step-children with four grandchildren.

Anne was predeceased by her step-father, Ralph Talbot; brother, Albert; her father, mother and daughter, Dee. She is survived by her husband, Bob; son, Bob White of Tulsa; daughter, Jeanne White Byquist and husband Brad of Salina; son-in-law, Jeff Ivers of Broken Arrow; grandson, Brock Ivers and wife Michelle of Tulsa; granddaughter Erin and husband Alan Henry and two great-grandsons of Edmond, OK; grandsons Grant and Trent Byquist of Kansas State University; and granddaughter  Bridgit Byquist of Rice University. Also, step-sons Robert McDowell III and wife Lisa; Tom McDowell of Littleton, Colorado; Dan McDowell of Kansas City, Missouri; and stepdaughters Dianne McDowell and Mary Pekas of Aurora, Colorado; and one step-granddaughter and three step-grandsons.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19 at Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian, E. 61st St. in Tulsa.
