James Ralph "Jim" Ong, 68 of Grove, Okla., passed away on Monday, September 20, 2010 in Joplin, Mo. Jim was born in Verona, N.J. on August 14, 1942 to Roy and Louise (Moffat) Ong.
Jim served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Jim worked and retired from McKesson Medical (Automated Prescription Systems) as the Director of Operations. Jim also worked as a driver and conversationalist for the Pelivan Company. Jim married Nancy in Grove, Okla. at the First United Methodist Church on September 5, 2007. Jim was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all he loved his dogs.
Jim is preceded in death by both of his parents.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Nancy of the home; two sons, Robert Ong and wife Erin of Castle Rock, Colo. and Tim Ong and wife Kimbra of San Jose, Calif.; one sister, Virginia Wask and husband Bruce of New Jersey; one brother, Steve Ong and wife Jean of North Carolina; two granddaughters, Olivia and Julia Ong of San Jose, Calif.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial Services were held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Grove, Okla. Randy Hamill officiated. Donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Attn: Donor Services, P.O. Box 650309. Dallas, TX 75265-0309.
